Certification Program Greets New Recruiters at Kimmel & Associates
July 2008 -- Asheville, NC - In 2004, Kimmel and Associates began Certification, an in-house program that offers 50 classes taught by senior consultants to new employees. The course is designed to walk new employees through the complicated and ever-changing landscape of a search, as each class aims to teach them how to proceed thoroughly and properly, serving the clients for whom they work and providing opportunities for the candidates whom they meet.
On Tuesday, July 22, 2008, the Fall 2008 Certification begins at Kimmel, with each new consultant and recruiter attending the first of many meetings that will run into the early days of October.
President Charlie Kimmel, who likens the effort to train new people to running a teaching hospital, said of the program, “Certification emphasizes that the new people concentrate on the essentials. Our mission statement is ‘To assist in the corporate growth of our clients; to assist in the personal growth of our candidates; to grow profitably; and, to honor God in all we do,’ and everyday, we’re telling the people in Certification to maintain those standards, because that will make them useful and dependable to their clients and, therefore, successful.”
Added Michael Thurman, a consultant who completed the program in Spring 2008, “What impressed me was how cohesive the program was. A class might ostensibly be about cold-call recruiting or marketing or presenting an offer to a candidate, but there is a subtext that underpins every class: represent the client with integrity, help the candidate advance his or her career, know your market, serve the other recruiters here and the professionals out there we work with.”
“Construction work is always changing. A construction executive needs us to be as smart and well-informed as possible, and the Certification program makes us that much more versatile and sharp. It reminds me to live up to the principles and high standards that I preach when I talk to the new employees,” said Vice President Guy Ross, a presenter of classes in each of the previous eight manifestations of the course and a construction consultant who specializes in the Southern California and Nevada markets.
The Fall 2008 Certification program will introduce several new classes as Kimmel & Associates strives to make its staff the best-trained team in the Executive Search business.
