Career Resources: Articles and Advice from the Recruiter

Kimmel Research Concentrates on Infrastructure Projects

In response to a struggling economy and paralleling the Obama Administration’s decision to invest money in Infrastructure construction through the Federal Stimulus initiative, and in Green Building, Kimmel & Associates established a team of researchers whose task was to determine how we could best serve our clients in a volatile time.

The result of that work produced a list of nine websites and resources which, when mined properly, can educate search consultants and construction professionals alike as we respond to the markets that are emerging as 2009 moves forward, making us aware of coming projects and leading us to recruit the strongest professionals to build them.

After sifting through hundreds of websites pointing to coming Infrastructure work, the Research Team pared their work to that list of ten websites and resources.

The websites listed here provide easy-to-navigate routes to projects that will be built and which point to an emphasis on our nation’s infrastructure.

  1. Individual State’s Websites (See below for those links)
  2. StimulusWatch.org
  3. Wall Street Journal Map
  4. FBO.org
  5. Recovery.gov
  6. ConstructionWebLinks.com
  7. GovExec.com

You’ll note that the sites number only seven, not nine: the other two “resources” represent the daily effort that the 100 Kimmel consultants expend every day on the phones, talking to the best people in the business, because that’s the foundation on which the company was established.

The Research Team is currently compiling a similar list to highlight Green Building work being done and to come. We will update this site when the team reveals its results.
