Logistics and Supply Chain Group Forged from Divisions within Kimmel & Associates
September 4, 2008 -- Asheville, NC - Kimmel & Associates is pleased to announce that its Freight Forwarding and Supply Chain divisions have merged to form the Logistics and Supply Chain Group in order to offer a more integrated range of services and better worldwide reach for its clients.
“The clients we serve and the professionals whose careers we help to shape are a fast-moving, smart set of people,” said Lynn Failing, a Vice President at Kimmel and co-leader of the new Logistics and Supply Chain Group. “Freight forwarders are repositioning themselves as full service logistics providers. We feel that this merger demonstrates our commitment to the swift pace of change in our industry.”
Anne Watkins, another Vice President at Kimmel and co-leader of the new group, is excited about the integration of services. “Our divisions were finding increasing crossover among professionals in logistics, freight forwarding, and supply chain. While we recognize significant distinctions among these segments of our industry, we’ve found that the executives we meet show great flexibility moving among these disciplines, and the changes we’re making embrace this.”
Failing and Watkins added that they saw a pioneering spirit these days as their clients weigh hiring decisions carefully and look for candidates who are adroit and forward-thinking. Failing noted, “There have been historical divides that simply weren’t crossed when shippers looked for talent. These days, many shippers are increasingly interested in hiring executives with backgrounds in freight forwarding and 3PL.”
“Our industry is evolving rapidly and our own strategy mirrors these shifts. We have longstanding relationships with many of the best executives in the business, and we are changing to better serve these professionals. It’s an exciting time to be in our industry,” added Watkins.
The website for the Logistics and Supply Chain Group at kimmel.com has been changed to reflect the wider reach of the consultants and recruiters at Kimmel in the new division.
