Cathy Nichols

Market Leader

Cathy joined Kimmel & Associates in 2019. She currently serves as a Market Leader in our Mechanical Division, serving the Northeast market. Previously she worked with General Construction Division, serving the Pacific Northwest and Northern California.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Mars Hill University.

Cathy has been married to her husband, Al, since 1997, and they have two amazing daughters.

We sat down with Cathy and asked her the following:

• What do you like most about working at Kimmel & Associates?
  I love the fact that Kimmel “walks the walk” and doesn’t just “talk the talk” when it comes to being a service-oriented company. From serving our clients, candidates, and industry as a whole to serving in our own communities, Kimmel & Associates has heart!
• What is one thing you learned early in your career that has made you successful?
  “Success is never owned – it’s rented, and rent is due every day.” – Rory Vaden
• What is your greatest strength in your role?
  I genuinely enjoy getting to know people and cultivating relationships that are mutually rewarding and beneficial. I want to hear about your kids just as much as I want to hear about the position you’re looking to fill.
• What can clients and candidates expect from you?
  Integrity, persistence, follow-up, and fun!
• What makes you different from other recruiters in your industry?
  I want to learn from you and about you. I want to really get into the details of your company and see what makes you tick so I can send like-minded, exceptional talent your way.
• Share a successful placement story or describe the most rewarding experience of your career.
  I had a candidate who lost her partner in life as well as a co-owner of a construction company; she was devastated. She had been given several offers from other companies, but none of them felt right. I finally brought a company to her attention that I thought would be the right fit. She was hired and is thrilled because it is a company that most resembled how she and her partner would have run a company. I love happy endings!
• Do you have a favorite movie?
  The Parent Trap with Hayley Mills - again, I love happy endings!
• What causes are you passionate about?
  Anything to do with veterans, children, or animals.
• Personal interests?
  Clemson Football and The Washington Football Team. Limones Restaurant in Asheville is one of my favorite celebration destinations. I love to travel - anytime, anywhere, I’m game!
